Metabolism Dress

“Imagine standing in front of your closet and you can not only choose whether you’re going to wear a black or colorful outfit today, but also what fragrance you’re going to wear.”

Creation process: More than 300 3D shapes were printed onto tulle fabric surfaces and those were inserted in curved line shapes between some pieces of fabric. The Laser-cutted forms were treated with fabric hardener and hand-stitched onto the 3D printed pieces to make the dress appear more ‘alive’ when worn. When the dress is placed statically on a mannequin, the many small 3D printed pieces including the hardened laser-cut objects stand rigidly and almost still, but when it is worn, the attached shapes move slightly and relative to the dnamics of the person - they flutter and sway.
